Ramblers Retreat, site logo.

Ramblers Retreat is situated on a private site south of the village of Niton and within a 15 minute walk of the coast. The site is a large, landscaped terraced garden and our chalet is on the upper level in a group of six similar chalets. From the car- park level there are thirty steps up to our terrace and therefore this may preclude those with mobility problems. It takes just a minute to walk from the car park area and a luggage trolley is available.
Because our site has a policy of no pets and no youngsters under 21, it is delightfully peaceful, but the additional bonus of being on the higher terrace is that we are away from the pathways to the car park and hence it is even quieter. The south-easterly aspect from our terrace not only provides a wonderful view of the distant sea, but is also ideal for sun worshipping and alfresco meals.

What our site does not have is anything vaguely related to a holiday camp. There are no pools, bars or slot-machine arcades, and if your idea of fun is loud parties with booze, drugs and rock and roll, then Ramblers Retreat is not the place for you. These ‘attractions' can be found at the main Island resorts of Sandown, Shanklin and Ryde.

If, however, you are searching for a peaceful spot, close to some super walks through stunning scenery, and the possibility of observing red squirrels whilst enjoying your breakfast on the terrace: this is the place for you.  If you are keen on stargazing, you will be delighted with the wonderfully dark skies at Niton; there is very little light pollution.
